A T T E N T I O N. I have found the perfect pair of leggings. More like perfect brand of leggings, but you know what I mean. If you have ever had the pleasure of slowly maneuvering/dancing/struggling to get into a pair of SPANX leggings, you understand when I say this might be the greatest gift to the females of the world. Guys are great too, and I still think kids are the spice of life, but damn SPANX, I just want to say THANK YOU.

I bought my first pair of SPANX leggings last winter, and my life was forever changed. I went through multiple years of trying different faux leather leggings (because who wants to wear real pants when you can wear leggings that look like pants), and was never truly satisfied. It was a mix of the material not being that great, to fits that just weren't as flattering as they could be, to the length not being long enough for an ankle boot. These leggings take care of all of those issues; they're long enough (I'm 5'10"!!), suck you in in all the right places, and the material is top notch. I bought the original faux leather leggings last year, and added this camo print faux leather pair to my closet a couple weeks ago. And the best part? These new arrivals are currently marked down for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and will be for another week! Stop buying multiple pairs of cheap leggings, and just splurge on a high quality pair. You'll thank me later (and so will your closet space!). Happy shopping Loves! xoxo

This past weekend's weather was crazy warm; I'll gladly take sunny and fifty degrees in the middle of February. I spent as much time as I could outside knowing that this weather wouldn't last very long, whether it was going for a run or walking to grab Starbucks and checking out the local boutiques (btw, the new smoked butterscotch latte is worth a try!). I wanted something comfy but cute for bopping around the city, so I went with this cozy sweater from LOFT, and paired it with leggings and my running shoes. Typically I'd wear riding boots with an outfit similar to this, but the athleisure trend is growing more and more popular, so I thought I'd give it a go. I threw on some red lipstick for a fun twist - the pop of color definitely elevated the look! If you're into layering, try adding a military-inspired or fur vest for another fun element! xoxo

Buffalo Plaids

Buffalo plaids have always been a classic, and this year they are making a huge statement. I've seen this pattern in jackets, tunics, swing dresses, capes...you name it, they have it. I paired my buffalo plaid cape with these fun printed leggings from Ruff Hewn Grey to mix it up a bit; I feel like sometimes I can get lazy and just pair everything with plain black leggings, so this was a good way to branch out! I also belted the cape to add a little shape to my outfit. This was trickier since this cape is so thick (it's so warm though!), but it really adds a more feminine touch so that I wasn't lost in all that fabric. Oh, and you can't forget the fringe! This is one of the more subtle fringe accents of the moment, but you literally can't go wrong with this trend (well maybe you can, but it would be pretty hard). Outfit details below - stock your closet with some plaid and fringe statement pieces. I swear you won't regret it!

This fall, I've been all about capes and plaid. I just can't get enough of them. This particular cape is great for transition weather, since it has the soft and cozy feel of a blanket without being too thick and warm. It easily drapes over your shoulders and provides an effortlessly cool look, especially with the eye-catching mix of colors that was utilized. Pair it with riding boots for Saturday morning errands, or with black jeggings and suede fringe booties for a more casual look. The possibilities are endless!
